A quarterly and semestral monitoring of crops other than palay and corn are undertaken by the BAS in order to generate production data of other crops which are needed in the preparation of quarterly report on the Performance of Agriculture. Statistics on major and minor crops are used by farmers, researchers, private agribusiness traders, and government policy makers in making programs and policies for the improvement of the sector.

Quarterly/Semestral Reporting of Other Crops Production Statistics

This is a continuing activity of the Bureau which generates area, production, total bearing trees estimates of crops at the national level and usually submitted to the BAS Central Office on a quarterly/semestral basis.

Generated Outputs

  • Quarterly/semestral national level data series on major and priority crops - 5 days after the National Data Review
  • Semestral national level data series on area, production and number of bearing trees on minor permanent and temporary crops - 60 days after the reference period
  • Statistical Handbook Series on:
    1. Major Crops - middle of April *
    2. Minor Priority Crops - middle of June *
    3. Other Minor Crops -middle of August
  • High Value Crops Bulletin - 4th week of June and December

    * Will depend on the availability of funds
