Department of Agriculture (DA)
     The principal agency of the Philippine government responsible for the promotion of agricultural development growth.


Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM)
     The BSWM is committed to continuously search for the best and precise soil and water management practices and technology and their promotion to specific appropriate locations. Central to these efforts is the participation of the BSWM in the establishment of applicable and cost-efficient science-based technologies that ensure sustainable food production without sacrificing the quality of natural resources for the sake of future generations.


Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI)
     The Bureau of Plant Industry Shall be responsible for: The production planning of improved seeds and planting materials, protection of agricultural crops from pests and diseases, and development and improvement of farm equipment and other related structures to the plant industry The preparation of program for selection, production and certification of improved seeds and planting materials, as well as guidelines for its implementation Recommending plant quarantine policies Prescribing rules and regulations for the prevention, control and eradication of pests, diseases and injuries to plant and plant products and Recommending plans, programs, policies, rules and regulation for the plant industry sector.


Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR)
     The central body for Research and Development system for agriculture and fisheries in the Philippines.


Bureau of Post-Harvest Research and Extension (BPRE)
     To generate, extend and commercialize appropriate and problem-oriented postproduction technologies and practices to reduce losses, improve food and feed quality maximize the benefits to the various stakeholder.


Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Product Standards (BAFPS)
     


Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)
     Section 14(b) and 20(b) of Executive Order No. 116 mandated the Agricultural Training Institute to: Train Agricultural extension workers and there clientele. Conduct multiple level training programs to promote and accelerate rural development. Ensure that research results are communicated to the farmers through appropriate training and extension activities.


Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)
     The BFAR has been operating as a staff bureau under the Department of Agriculture (DA) since 1987 to date. With the enactment of the Philippine Fisheries code of 1998 (RA 8550), BFAR shall be transform to a line Bureau Under the DA. Pursuant to this code, the Department through the BFAR is mandated to: Enhance the income and improve the quality of life of rural fishing families Attain and maintain self-sufficiency in fish. Optimize utilization of fish and other aquatic resources. Increase exportation of traditional and non-traditional fish and fishery export products Archive and maintain the optimum productive condition of the country's fisheries and aquatic resources.


Agricultural Credit and Policy Council (ACPC)
     Administering the Comprehensive Agricultural Loan Fund and promotes innovative financing schemes for the agricultural sector.


Cotton Development Authority (CODA)
     To enable the farmers to earn additional income by growing cotton as a cash crop. - To reduce the country's importation of medium staple cotton lint and save on foreign exchange - To develop appropriate technologies and sustain the growth of industry


Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA)
     Assures the agricultural sector of adequate supplies of fertilizer and pesticides at responsible prices, rationalizing the manufacture and marketing of fertilizer, protecting the public from the risk inherent in the use of pesticides and educating the agricultural sector in the use of this inputs.


Fiber Industry Development Authority (FIDA)
     Promote the accelerated growth and development of Philippine fibers in all aspect including research, production, processing, marketing and trade regulation.


Livestock Development Council (LDC)
     Formulate and establish comprehensive policies and guidelines. Formulate livestock and poultry development program. Assist, coordinate and integrate government and private sector activities. Coordinate, integrate and supervise livestock programs of the government. Evaluate and monitor the activities and accomplishment of government agencies implementing livestock program. Serve as forum between the private and government sector to identify the industry's problem and trusts for policy formulation.
