- Provide statistical data requirements to the Office of the Secretary of
the Department of Agriculture,
including its bureaus and attached agencies.
- Cater to the statistical needs of the:
- Farmers, fisherfolk, traders, consumers, cooperatives, and other
non-government organizations;
- Private sector, entrepreneurs, researchers and scholars;
- Senators and representatives;
- NEDA, NSCB, and other government agencies;
- International organizations such as the Food and Agriculture
Organization (FAO), United States Agency for International Development (USAID),
World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB), etc;
- Research organizations and academic circles at the local and
international levels; and the
- General public.
- Provide the framework for developing a nationwide, farmer-oriented
agricultural statistics, marketing information service and national
information network.
