EASTERN VISAYAS, June 2010
- CROPS
- Harvesting of mangoes was on-going in the northwestern part of the region. Production of fruits and vegetables declined as a result of hot weather condition. About 80% percent of the total palay areas were planted.
- LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY
- Supply of livestock and poultry came from different regions.
- FISHERIES
- Fish production in the region was within normal level.
- PRICES AND MARKET SUPPLY
- Prices of cereals especially rice increased because of decrease in supply. Supply of other farm commodities like vegetables, condiments and fruits increased due to the influx of commodities from neighboring regions.
- Prices for both marine and commercial fishery were stable. An increase in supply coming in from nearby provinces was recorded.
- WEATHER SITUATION
- Generally, hot weather condition with scattered rainshowers during afternoon prevailed over the region.
